Freshman quarterback Faizon Brandon leads Tennessee football to dominant win in historic debut.

Freshman quarterback Faizon Brandon led Tennessee to a 56-9 victory over Furman in his first start, throwing for 226 yards and three touchdowns, while also rushing for 68 yards and two scores. He became the first SEC player since Cam Newton in 2010 to have three passing and two rushing touchdowns in a debut start. Coach Josh Heupel praised Brandon's composure, decision-making, and game management. Despite acknowledging that there is still work to be done for Brandon and the Vols.
