Jean-Pierre Colin, Veteran Mining Finance Expert, Appointed Vice Chairman at Apollo Nora Advisors

Jean-Pierre Colin, a 45-year veteran of Canada's securities industry, has joined Apollo Nora Advisors Ltd. as Vice Chairman, effective immediately, according to The Sudbury Star. The Toronto-based investor relations and capital markets advisory firm gains one of the country's most recognized names in mining finance.
Apollo CEO Jonathan Pinto said Colin's arrival "aligns with their fast-growing team" and will extend the firm's reach in investor relations, governance, and proxy solicitation — with a particular focus on the mining sector, Brantford Expositor reported.
Colin spent four decades building a reputation at the heart of Canadian mining finance. He managed billions of dollars in mining funds and served on numerous public-company boards, according to Pincher Creek Echo. His work touched nearly every corner of the industry — from deal-making to capital raising.
He also led Mid-Cap Equity corporate finance and mergers-and-acquisitions desks across the Canadian securities industry, The Whig reported. Those roles placed him at the center of some of Canada's biggest mining deals over the past four decades.
One of Colin's most lasting contributions is the financial structure known as flow-through shares. These are government-assisted investment vehicles that allow mining companies to pass certain tax deductions on to investors. Colin helped pioneer their use, and they remain a key tool in Canadian resource finance today, according to Goderich Signal Star.
That kind of structural innovation made Colin a go-to figure for companies looking to raise capital in the mining sector. His ability to design and execute complex financing deals set him apart over a career spanning more than four decades, The Observer noted.
Apollo Nora Advisors is an independent, Toronto-based firm focused on investor relations, capital markets advisory, governance, and proxy solicitation. The firm has been growing quickly, and CEO Jonathan Pinto said Colin's experience directly supports that growth, according to Pincher Creek Echo.
Adding a figure with Colin's profile gives Apollo a direct line into the mining investment community. His board experience and deep industry relationships make him a strong asset for companies seeking guidance on how to communicate with investors and navigate capital markets, The Sudbury Star reported.
