The second design showcases four spacecraft spanning the franchise's history: the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701, the Enterprise NCC-1701-D, the U.S.S. Voyager NCC-74656, and a Klingon Bird-of-Prey. Both coins are legal tender with a face value of 50 pence, though they are sold as collectibles rather than for circulation.

Fans can purchase the coins starting September 3 at 9 AM on www.royalmint.com, according to The Royal Mint. Prices start from £19.95 for individual coins. The first coin (Vulcan salute) launches immediately on that date. The second coin (spacecraft) becomes available for separate purchase in November. Collectors can also buy both coins together as a dual-set package from the launch date.
