No. 10 Ole Miss Opens 2026 Season Against Louisville Without Lane Kiffin

No. 10 Mississippi will begin its 2026 college football season with a game against Louisville on Sept. 6 at Nissan Stadium in Nashville, the home venue of the NFL's Tennessee Titans. The Rebels return two of the best quarterback and running back players in college football, Trinidad Chambliss and Kewan Lacy, who helped them reach the semifinals of the College Football Playoff. However, Ole Miss's defensive coordinator, Pete Golding, has been promoted to the full-time coaching position following Lane Kiffin's departure to LSU. Louisville, which has won 28-12 in three seasons under coach Jeff Brohm, brings back one of the most explosive running backs in the country in Isaac Brown and Clev Lubin and Tyler Thompson, who together had 15.5 sacks last season. The game is set to be one of one of football's most anticipated games in Ole Miss history.
