Los españoles rozan los 47 millones de viajes, aumentando su gasto un 3,5%

Spaniards are traveling more and spending more money doing it. The country hit nearly 47 million trips, up 1.1% from the previous period, according to La Opinión, Información, and Diario de Mallorca. Travel spending jumped 3.5%, signaling stronger demand across Spain's tourism economy.
Three regions dominate where Spaniards choose to vacation. Andalusia attracts 16.8% of all domestic trips, making it Spain's clear favorite, according to La Opinión, Levante-EMV, and El Periódico. Catalonia captures 13.6%, while the Valencian Community takes 11% of all travel activity.
Travelers are not just taking more trips—they are opening their wallets wider. Spending rose 3.5% while trips grew just 1.1%, according to LNE and El Correo Gallego. This gap suggests Spaniards are choosing pricier trips or staying longer at their destinations.
The uptick in travel activity points to consumer confidence in Spain's economy. More trips plus higher spending suggest households feel secure enough to invest in leisure, as reported by La Opinión de Murcia, El Periódico de Aragón, and La Provincia. This boost supports Spain's tourism and hospitality sectors.
