Florida Gators return to Ben Hill Griffin Stadium amid historic renovation project

Florida Gators football returns to Ben Hill Griffin Stadium for the first home game of the 2026 season for the University of Florida (UAA) for the most expensive stadium renovation project in college sports history, with a $1.45 billion renovation to Benhill Griffin Stadium that will completely transform the stadium. Several roads near the stadium, including Gale Lemerand Drive and University Avenue, will close hours before kickoff and fans are encouraged to arrive early for general parking or use designated shuttle services to the stadium due to the construction of the $1,45 billion project. Gates open 90 minutes before kickoff, and the university is using digital tickets with an optional facial recognition entry system. Special events for the game include a community day, a halftime drone show, and an open practice for the Florida basketball team. Tickets for the upcoming game against Florida Atlantic are sold out, but tickets are still available on the secondary market.
