Maryland Governor Wes Moore Faces Republican Dan Cox in Crucial State Debate

Maryland Gov. Wes Moore is set to face GOP nominee Dan Cox in a debate on Oct. 6 hosted by Maryland Public Television, potentially preparing for a potential presidential run in 2028. Despite Moore's 27-point lead in the polls and $6.4 million cash advantage over Cox, both Republican and Democrat strategists believe this debate could help Moore build on his national stage. This debate could also help Moore's campaign address voter concerns in front of a statewide audience and bolster his chances of beating Cox by an even wider margin than in 2022. This will be the first time Moore and Cox appear together before the general election to defend their respective visions for the state.
