NFL+ and RedZone App Outages Disrupt Week 1 Games for Fans

NFL+ and the NFL app were hit by technical issues during Week 1 games, causing widespread disruption during the first full Sunday of the 2026 season. Users reported problems accessing NFL+ and NFL RedZone, while others said the NFL App wouldn't load or recognize their subscriptions. Downdetector, which provides real-time monitoring of technology outages, showed thousands of reports of problems around the start of Sunday's 1 p.m. games. The outage occurred at a particularly inconvenient time as eight games were scheduled to start at 1 p., including the Buffalo Bills' season opener against the Houston Texans. The NFL acknowledged the issue on social media at 1:19 p.M. ET and is working to resolve the issue. Some fans also reported problems watching games through NFL Sunday Ticket, a separate service distributed through YouTube and YouTube TV.
