Israel releases four Lebanese civilians as Mideast tensions and shipping slowdowns drive fuel prices higher

Israel has released four Lebanese civilians who had been detained by its forces in southern Lebanon as part of a deal between the countries. The release comes as a result of U.S. mediation and negotiations between Israel and Lebanon. Ship traffic remains low on the Strait of Hormuz after the U.K. and Iran exchanged attacks for the first time in a month. Fuel prices have also been affected by the renewed U.N. attacks on targets in Iran and Iran's retaliatory attacks in the region. Diesel hit a record price in the U., rising to an average of $5.85 a gallon for the the first ever. Another round of talks are expected later this month.
