Niber Technologies Appoints Jochen Lagemann to Bolster Global Ingredient Brand Strategy and European Presence

Niber Technologies has named Jochen Lagemann as Chief Commercial Officer, effective August 1, according to Financial Post. Lagemann brings more than 25 years of experience building ingredient brands in the performance apparel and textile industries. He will be based in Munich, Germany.
The hire marks a major push by Niber to turn its electrospinning technology into a recognized global brand. Niber is Asia's first industrial-scale maker of PFAS-free electrospun nanofiber membranes, Calgary Sun reported. PFAS are synthetic chemicals that have drawn scrutiny over health and environmental concerns.
Lagemann's career spans more than two decades working with global brands in performance apparel and textiles. His focus has been building ingredient brands — a strategy where a component supplier markets its technology directly to consumers and brand partners. Think of how Gore-Tex or Intel became household names even though they supply parts, not finished products.
Niber wants the same kind of recognition for its nanofiber membrane technology. Lagemann will lead outreach to brand partners, manufacturers, and value-chain players around the world, according to Daily Herald Tribune.
Alongside the hire, Niber is opening its first European office in Munich. The move signals the company's intent to compete at a global level, not just in Asian markets. Munich gives Niber direct access to a dense network of European performance apparel brands and textile manufacturers.
Lagemann's local presence in Germany is key to that plan. He will work to position Niber as the go-to technology platform for global brands seeking PFAS-free materials, Chatham Daily News reported.
Niber's core product is an electrospun nanofiber membrane made without PFAS. Electrospinning is a process that uses electric force to spin ultra-thin fibers. The result is a high-performance material used in filtration, apparel, and protective fabrics. PFAS-free versions are in growing demand as regulators worldwide crack down on the chemicals.
Niber calls itself the first industrial-scale producer of this type of membrane, giving it a potential edge as brands race to cut PFAS from their supply chains, according to Calgary Sun.
This appointment is not just a sales hire. It reflects a deliberate strategy to build Niber into a structured ingredient brand — one that partners recognize and seek out by name. That kind of brand equity takes years to build and requires dedicated commercial leadership to pull off.
Lagemann's role will be to drive that recognition across global markets. The company is betting that its PFAS-free platform, paired with strong brand strategy, can make Niber the preferred choice for manufacturers and labels looking to clean up their material supply chains, Daily Herald Tribune reported.
