David Jonsson has been cast as the new Black Panther in the MCU, Marvel Studios announced at San Diego Comic-Con 2026. Kevin Feige and director Ryan Coogler revealed the news during the Hall H presentation, according to Comics Beat.

Instead, Wakanda Forever passed the Black Panther mantle to Shuri, played by Letitia Wright. Now, Marvel is moving a generation forward. Jonsson's character — T'Challa's son, introduced at the end of Wakanda Forever — is growing up to carry the legacy himself, Yahoo News reported.
