NexGen Energy Expands High-Grade Mineralization and Increases Drilling Capacity at Patterson Corridor East

NexGen Energy has significantly expanded its high-grade uranium deposit in Canada's Athabasca Basin. The company widened the vertical extent of its high-grade subdomain by 17% to 644 meters and discovered continuous strong mineralization across the Patterson Corridor East (PCE), according to BarChart.
Recent drill holes show the deposit is growing deeper and richer. Hole RK-26-293 hit 4.7 meters of exceptionally strong uranium readings (>10,000 counts per second), including 0.1 meters at >61,000 cps at 930 meters depth. The company is adding a fifth drill to speed up exploration of this expanding resource.
The high-grade subdomain now extends 644 meters vertically, up 94 meters from previous measurements BarChart reported. This 17% expansion shows the uranium mineralization goes deeper than initially thought. Drill hole RK26-290c1 ranks among the best holes drilled in 2026 so far. RK27-294 ranks third best, based on cumulative readings above 61,000 cps.
Mineralization isn't scattered — it appears continuous across the Patterson Corridor East zone. Drill hole RK28-296 returned 3.5 meters of strong mineralization (>10,000 cps), with 3.1 meters exceeding 61,000 cps Owen Sound Sun Times noted. This hole sits 27 meters shallower than earlier hole RK24-222, proving the ore body extends upward as well as downward.
NexGen is deploying a fifth drill rig at the Athabasca property to explore faster. Shoreline Beacon reported the additional drilling crew will focus on testing the newly expanded high-grade zones. More drills mean the company can test multiple targets simultaneously and bring resources into production faster. This acceleration matters because uranium prices remain strong globally.
Larger, deeper deposits cost less to mine per ton of uranium. A 17% vertical expansion increases the total amount of mineable ore significantly Goderich Signal Star reported. NexGen trades on three exchanges (TSX: NXE; NYSE: NXG; ASX: NexG), giving global investors access to this Athabasca property. Continuous high-grade mineralization means fewer waste rock barriers when mining begins.
