MySweetSmile Teeth Whitening Strips Offer Brighter Smiles in Just Seven Days

MySweetSmile's Teeth Whitening Strips promise a noticeably brighter smile in just seven days, with each 30-minute session targeting stains from coffee, tea, and red wine. The brand has now surpassed 1 million customers globally and holds a 4.5 out of 5 rating from over 8,000 verified reviews, according to Trustpilot.
With summer holidays approaching, the strips are being marketed as a travel-friendly solution. They fold easily into a suitcase for on-the-go touch-ups, and a full box contains 21 treatments — enough for three seven-day cycles, according to The Scotsman.
MySweetSmile uses PAP — short for Phthalimidoperoxycaproic Acid — instead of traditional hydrogen peroxide. Unlike peroxide, which can irritate tooth nerves, PAP targets surface and near-surface stains without damaging enamel. A 2025 systematic review found PAP-based formulas now make up 55% of the professional whitening market, according to Yorkshire Evening Post.
UK law caps over-the-counter peroxide whitening products at just 0.1% — a restriction that pushed British brands to innovate with non-bleaching alternatives. MySweetSmile founder Shayan Sharifi said he built the brand after suffering "severe sensitivity and permanent damage" from LED whitening kits in 2020. "We spent months collaborating with dental experts," Sharifi said, according to Shropshire Star.
In October 2024, MySweetSmile earned the Dermatest 5-Star Seal of Approval from a German clinical laboratory. Dermatest is one of Europe's most respected independent testing bodies. The certification confirmed the formula is both enamel-safe and free from sensitivity side effects, according to Lancaster Guardian.
The brand has also been voted Best Teeth Whitening Brand by The Independent's IndyBest panel for three straight years, from 2023 through 2025. That combination of consumer trust and lab certification has helped the company expand into the US market, where it uses Amazon's fulfillment network — cutting delivery times by 43%, according to Harrogate Advertiser.
Not everyone is convinced. Some dental professionals argue that PAP works best on surface stains — from coffee or wine — but lacks the power to address deeper, intrinsic discoloration. They describe non-peroxide products as "high-end stain removers" rather than true bleaches, according to Glasgow World.
Supporters counter that for most holiday-goers, surface stain removal is exactly what is needed. At a regular price of £29.99 — and as low as £9.99 during summer promotions — the strips cost a fraction of a professional dentist whitening treatment, which can run £300 or more, according to Glasgow World.
The at-home teeth whitening market is expected to reach $212 million by 2032, growing at nearly 10% per year. MySweetSmile's rise signals a broader shift. Consumers now rank "sensitivity-free" and "clean label" above raw bleaching strength when choosing a whitening product, according to Yorkshire Evening Post.
Major brands like Colgate and Procter & Gamble are watching closely. The UK's Advertising Standards Authority has also warned the entire whitening industry to hold "robust independent clinical evidence" for any efficacy claims — a standard MySweetSmile says its Dermatest certification and dentist-approved formula already meet, according to Harrogate Advertiser.
