Great Britain and Ireland defeat America to win first Walker Cup since 2015

The 51st edition of the Walker Cup, held in Lahinch, Ireland, saw Great Britain and Ireland defeat a stacked American team, winning 13.5 to 12.5. In the decisive singles play, GB&I won seven matches, halved two and lost one. This was the first time GB&Ireland had won the event since 2015. Despite some arguing that GB&Is have more experience playing links golf, seven of the GB&C golfers play college golf in the US. In 2023, the Walker Cups will be held at the Old Course.
