Purecore Metals Options Yurchison Uranium Property from Skyharbour in Athabasca Basin

Purecore Metals Inc. (CSE: PURE) has signed a definitive agreement with Skyharbour Resources Ltd. (TSXV: SYH) to earn up to a 100% interest in the Yurchison uranium property in the Athabasca Basin of Northern Saskatchewan, according to Montreal Gazette. The property covers 22 mineral claims totaling approximately 35,029 hectares — a large foothold in one of the world's top uranium-producing regions.
The deal gives Purecore a path to acquire a significant stake in a uranium-rich basin at a time when global demand for the fuel is rising fast, Northern News reported. To earn its initial 70% interest, Purecore must meet several financial and exploration milestones over the life of the agreement.
To earn an initial 70% interest in the Yurchison property, Purecore must pay Skyharbour $350,000 in total cash payments, according to Ottawa Sun. The company must also issue shares worth $700,000 and spend at least $3,500,000 on exploration work on the property.
The initial 70% stake comes with a 2.0% net smelter return royalty, or NSR. An NSR royalty means Skyharbour gets a cut of revenue from any minerals sold from the site. Purecore has an option to earn up to 100% of the property by meeting further conditions outlined in the agreement, Ottawa Sun noted.
The Athabasca Basin in Northern Saskatchewan is widely regarded as one of the best places on Earth to find uranium. The region hosts some of the highest-grade uranium deposits ever discovered. Getting a foothold there is a major goal for junior mining companies like Purecore, The Crag and Canyon reported.
Recorder noted that the deal gives Purecore "significant exposure to the world's premier uranium district." The Yurchison property sits in an area known for its accessibility, which helps lower the cost of exploration work compared to more remote sites in the basin.
Skyharbour Resources is a well-known player in the Athabasca Basin. The company regularly partners with junior miners through option agreements, letting smaller firms earn into properties by funding exploration. This deal with Purecore fits that model exactly, with Skyharbour keeping an NSR royalty and potential upside if the property proves productive.
Skyharbour trades on the TSX Venture Exchange under the ticker SYH and also on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange under J8Y, according to Ottawa Sun. The arrangement allows Skyharbour to advance multiple properties across its portfolio at the same time by sharing exploration costs with partners like Purecore.
Purecore's next steps will focus on advancing the Yurchison property toward active exploration. The company must hit its cash payment schedule, deliver the required shares to Skyharbour, and begin putting money into the ground to meet the $3.5 million spending commitment, Northern News reported.
The property's accessibility is seen as a practical advantage. Easier access means lower logistics costs and faster turnaround on fieldwork. For a junior miner working within tight budget constraints, that matters. Purecore trades on the Canadian Securities Exchange under the ticker PURE.
