David Broncano's late-night show *La Revuelta* is leaving its usual Thursday slot for three consecutive Fridays in June. The change is tied to the 2026 FIFA World Cup, hosted by Mexico, Canada, and the United States La Opinión de A Coruña.

Each special edition follows a specific match on La 1. On June 12, *La Revuelta* airs after Canada vs. Bosnia Herzegovina. On June 19, it follows USA vs. Australia. Both matches kick off at 21:00 Diario de Ibiza.
June 26 is the most unusual night. *La Revuelta* airs in prime time as a warm-up act — not a follow-up. It leads directly into the Uruguay vs. Spain match, which does not start until 02:00 AM El Periódico de Aragón.
A New Show Takes Broncano's Thursday Slot
While *La Revuelta* moves to Fridays, RTVE is filling the Thursday night gap with a brand-new show. Humorist Manu Sánchez hosts *El perro andaluz*, produced by 16 Escalones and filmed in Seville at the Cartuja Center Diario Córdoba.
The strategy is clear: use the massive World Cup audience as a launch pad for the new format. The opening match on June 11 — Mexico vs. South Africa — will air on La 1. *El perro andaluz* premieres immediately after El DÃa.
Football Audiences Give RTVE a Ratings Boost
The numbers already show how football changes the game. On June 4, La 1 aired the Spain vs. Iraq friendly and pulled a 24.3% share with 2,830,000 viewers. *La Revuelta* followed in a late-night slot and still earned a 12.2% share — higher than its normal result Diario de Mallorca.
The catch: absolute viewers dropped. On a normal night, *La Revuelta* draws around 1,250,000 viewers. After the football overrun, it pulled just 974,000. Moving the show later costs real audience, even if the share percentage looks healthy La Opinión de Murcia.
Broncano vs. Motos: Thursdays Get a Temporary Truce
For three weeks, *La Revuelta* will not go head-to-head with Pablo Motos' *El Hormiguero* on Thursdays. That rivalry has defined Spanish access prime time since September 2024. On June 3 — the last normal Thursday — *El Hormiguero* posted a four-month high: 16.1% share and 1,855,000 viewers El Periódico de Extremadura.
*La Revuelta* that same night drew 10.9% and 1,250,000 viewers. For now, World Cup football — not either show — will dominate Thursdays. After June 26, the regular Monday-to-Thursday schedule is expected to resume Diario de Ibiza.
