Optimal Transit has unveiled Kraaken™, a self-powered maritime AI data center platform that generates its own electricity from the ocean — no power grid, no fuel deliveries required. The company calls it the world's first of its kind, according to AP News.
The platform comes in four sizes — 10 MW, 20 MW, 50 MW, and 100 MW — and can float permanently at sea or move under its own power at speeds approaching 16 knots if a storm threatens, according to Yahoo Finance.
