Cardinals And Rockies Players Tilt Caps To Protest Umpire Doug Eddings

Players from St. Louis and Colorado have tilted their caps in protest against umpire Doug Eddings, who had previously instructed Cardinals rookie pitcher Hancel Rincon to straighten his hat. This incident led to an argument with St. L. Louis manager Oliver Marmol, which led to Marmol's ejection. Most of the Cardinals' players had their hats tilted during pregame warmups and continued to do so during the game. Rincon, a 24-year-old from the Dominican Republic, made his major league debut in relief in the sixth inning and wore his cap with the brim pointing to the left. After being replaced by Justin Bruihl, Rincon allowed another single before being replaced. Eddinations reportedly confronted Rincon after a Colorado hitter complained.
