Karnataka’s ruling Congress will begin a second Bharat Jodo campaign in Shikaripura on September 30, marking the anniversary of Rahul Gandhi’s 2022 march entering the state. The planned 84-day effort will visit the 84 Assembly constituencies the party lost in 2023, spanning 29 districts, with programs in the other constituencies starting in early October. Congress leaders say the campaign will include public meetings and discussions with residents, and will highlight what the party describes as shortcomings of the BJP and damage to the Election Commission; one report also says drought issues will be raised. Shikaripura was selected in part because it is the constituency of BJP state president B.Y. Vijayendra.
