Santa Ana Police Search For Driver Who Deliberately Ran Over Puppy

Santa Ana police are searching for the driver of a minivan that was seen on a surveillance video apparently driving over a puppy on Sept. 8. The video appears to show a woman deliberately running over and killing the 9-month-old puppy. The police shared the disturbing recording on social media in hopes of identifying the driver. The minivan's license plate cannot be clearly seen in the video. Maliciously and intentionally killing an animal can be charged as felony animal cruelty in California, punishable by up to three years in county jail and up to $20,000 in fines.
