Mezzetta voluntarily recalls one peperoncini lot following a viral TikTok video.

Mezzetta voluntarily recalled one lot of its 32-ounce Golden Greek Peperoncini Medium Heat after a TikTok video appeared to show a dead mouse in a jar. The recall is limited to products marked SKU 10106328 and lot number 720106; no other Mezzetta products or lots are included. The company has contacted the consumer, asked retailers to remove the affected product, and is reviewing the jar and relevant production, sanitation and food-safety records. No illnesses or injuries have been reported. Consumers should not eat the recalled peppers and should contact Mezzetta customer support for assistance.
The consumer said she discovered the alleged mouse while preparing Mississippi-style pot roast and had already licked her fingers before noticing it.
Mezzetta products are sold at H-E-B, Walmart, Target and Randalls stores, as well as online through Walmart, Target, Albertsons, Kroger and the company’s website.
Mezzetta said its facilities use established sanitation, pest-control, product-quality and traceability programs designed to protect its products.
The consumer said in a follow-up video that she had contacted the grocery store where she bought the jar, an attorney and poison control.
