New California Law Helps LA County HOAs Reinstate Expired CC&Rs

The California Assembly Bill 2692, signed as an urgency measure to help Los Angeles County HOAs affected by the 2025 Eaton and Palisades fire disasters, allows LA County HOas with expired CC&Rs to hold a membership vote to reinstate the document. The vote must be conducted in compliance with the Act and with the HOA’s governing documents. However, once revived, the document can be extended by either the initial term of the CC&R or 20 years, whichever is less. The bill is not limited to HOAs in the Pacific Palisade or Altadena communities. However it is suggested that all California HOAs should be eligible for this assistance.
