Snap Launches $2,195 Specs AR Glasses Featuring New AI Assistant and Enterprise Features

Snap is requiring a $200 refundable deposit for Specs preorders and plans to offer an early hands-on demo at Westfield Century City in Los Angeles beginning Oct. 1, with Verizon stores expected to add demos later.
The cellular carrying case will also be available outside the United States through Orange in France and EE in the United Kingdom, broadening Specs’ connectivity options beyond Verizon and other U.S. customers.
The iOS Specs app lets users download and share content captured through Spectacles, in addition to pairing the glasses, mirroring phone activity and using Spectator mode.
Snap’s enterprise strategy includes a Salesforce use case in which field workers could use Specs to identify objects and retrieve relevant information while working.
Snap is recruiting an Enterprise Partner Development Manager to build partnerships and joint go-to-market efforts; the advertised base salary ranges from $190,000 to $284,000 annually in its highest compensation zone, including California and New York.
Snap has launched its $2,195 Specs augmented-reality glasses as fully standalone wearable computers with dual lens displays, priced to compete in the premium AR market. TechCrunch reported that the company is taking preorders with a $200 refundable deposit for delivery this fall, bundling a 5G-enabled carrying case that costs $10 monthly for Verizon customers and $20 for others. The glasses run AR applications, navigation, gaming and entertainment without needing to connect to a phone.
Snap is also launching Specs Intelligence, an AI assistant built into the glasses and available on iPhone and Mac apps. TechBuzz noted the assistant can connect to Messages, Gmail and Slack to anticipate user needs and perform tasks like retrieving travel information or buying movie tickets. The company is targeting both consumer and enterprise markets, with field workers able to use Specs to identify objects and pull relevant information while on the job.
The Specs function as a self-contained computer without tethering to a phone, according to Daily Guardian. The glasses come in two lens sizes — 47mm and 52mm — letting users pick the fit that works best. SSB Crack confirmed the $2,195 price point and noted the glasses feature bold aesthetics that overlay the user's view of the real world with digital content and AR applications.
Snap is offering early hands-on demos at Westfield Century City in Los Angeles beginning October 1. Verizon stores are expected to add demo locations later. TechCrunch reported that the $200 refundable deposit locks in preorders for fall delivery, making it accessible for people who want to test the glasses before committing fully.
The 5G carrying case will be available in France through Orange and in the United Kingdom through EE, broadening Specs' connectivity options beyond Verizon and other U.S. carriers. This international expansion signals Snap's ambition to position Specs as a global product. The cellular service pricing varies by carrier, ranging from $10 to $20 monthly depending on the user's location and provider.
The companion iOS Specs app lets users pair and control the glasses, mirror phone activity, share the glasses' view and download content captured through the device. TechCrunch reported that Snap is positioning Specs for enterprise use, citing potential applications with Salesforce where field workers could identify objects and retrieve relevant information. Snap is recruiting an Enterprise Partner Development Manager with a base salary range of $190,000 to $284,000 annually in top compensation zones like California and New York.
