Los Angeles Angels suffer their first 100-loss season in franchise history.

The Seattle Mariners beat the Los Angeles Angels 7-3 in both teams’ season finale, leaving Los Angeles with a 62-100 record and the first 100-loss season in franchise history. The Angels’ 10-game losing streak ended a turbulent year marked by organizational changes and missed expectations. A proposed sale of the club to Stan Kroenke has raised hopes of a reset, but still requires approval. Seattle finished 76-86 and missed the playoffs.
The Angels had been MLB’s last franchise never to lose 100 games; their 62-100 finish ended a distinction they had held for 65 years and surpassed their previous worst record, 63-99 in 2024.
Los Angeles finished well below preseason expectations: FanGraphs projected a 67-95 record, while sportsbooks set the team’s win total at roughly 71.5 to 72.5.
The Mariners built a 3-0 lead against former Seattle pitcher Yusei Kikuchi, then added three runs in the sixth; Randy Arozarena’s two-run double helped put the game out of reach.
After GM Perry Minasian was fired on June 26, interim GM John Mozeliak traded away several established players—including Taylor Ward, Jo Adell and Logan O’Hoppe—and left first-year manager Kurt Suzuki with a younger roster.
The finale’s loss also put first-year manager Kurt Suzuki’s job in doubt, according to the report.
