SAP Agrees to Acquire Belgian AI Workforce Startup TechWolf in Major Deal

SAP has agreed to acquire Belgian workforce-intelligence company TechWolf for undisclosed terms, adding AI technology that maps employees’ tasks and skills and compares them with business needs. SAP plans to make the platform a core part of SuccessFactors and use its workforce data across hiring, reskilling and organizational planning, while also supporting its AI assistant. TechWolf will remain an independent business based in Ghent under CEO Andreas De Neve and continue serving non-SAP customers. The deal is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2026, subject to regulatory approval.
TechWolf says its customers include HSBC, GSK, Ericsson, AMD, PayPal and Booking.com.
SAP’s Manoj Swaminathan said TechWolf’s workforce data could make SAP’s AI assistant cheaper to run and better at answering questions.
The deal brings TechWolf’s applied AI research team and workforce models into SAP; the companies also plan to co-develop AI-powered workforce-optimization products after closing.
The acquisition follows several other AI-related purchases by SAP in 2026: Reltio in March, then Dremio and Prior Labs in May. SAP committed more than €1 billion to Prior Labs over four years.
