Clare Market Investments Diversifies Portfolio with Key Stakes in Technology, Metals, and More

Clare Market Investments LLC acquired 14,285 shares of Invesco QQQ in the first quarter, valued at about $8.245 million, accounting for roughly 1.7% of Clare Market's holdings and ranking as the fund's 12th biggest position.
SpaceX is joining the Nasdaq-100, which could give QQQ indirect exposure and may spur passive index-related buying as funds adjust to the change.
Clare Market purchased 7,480 shares of Franco-Nevada in the first quarter, totaling approximately $1.848 million.
Clare Market bought 5,350 shares of Cameco in the first quarter, valued at about $581,000.
Vice Chairman William H. Heyman sold 1,557 shares of Travelers Companies in a transaction dated April 28, at an average price of $310.64 per share, signaling insider activity around the stock.
Clare Market Investments LLC made a wave of new stock purchases in the first quarter, building fresh positions across five sectors. The firm's biggest move was a $8.25 million bet on Invesco QQQ, buying 14,285 shares of the tech-heavy fund, according to Watchlist News.
The spree did not stop there. Clare Market also picked up shares in Franco-Nevada, Cameco, The Travelers Companies, and Select Water Solutions, signaling a strategy built on broad diversification rather than a narrow focus.
The QQQ purchase is Clare Market's largest single new bet this quarter. At $8.245 million, it now makes up roughly 1.7% of the firm's total holdings. QQQ tracks the Nasdaq-100, giving investors exposure to the biggest non-financial companies on the Nasdaq exchange.
The timing may prove significant. SpaceX is set to join the Nasdaq-100, which would give QQQ indirect exposure to the private rocket company. That addition could also trigger passive buying from index funds that must adjust their holdings to match the new index lineup.
Clare Market put $1.848 million into Franco-Nevada, buying 7,480 shares of the gold royalty company, according to Watchlist News. Franco-Nevada does not mine gold itself. Instead, it collects royalties from mining companies, which limits its risk while keeping exposure to precious metal prices.
The firm also bought 5,350 shares of Cameco, a major uranium producer, for about $581,000. Cameco has benefited from rising interest in nuclear energy as governments look for low-carbon power sources. Both purchases suggest Clare Market sees lasting value in hard assets and energy materials.
Clare Market added 4,736 shares of The Travelers Companies, valued at roughly $1.38 million, according to Ticker Report. Travelers is one of the largest property and casualty insurers in the United States and a component of the Dow Jones Industrial Average.
The purchase comes with a notable asterisk. Vice Chairman William H. Heyman sold 1,557 Travelers shares on April 28 at an average price of $310.64 each. Insider sales can mean many things, but they often draw attention when a new institutional buyer steps in at nearly the same time.
Clare Market also bought 46,275 shares of Select Water Solutions for $708,000, according to Ticker Report. Select Water provides water management services to oil and gas companies. The position is the firm's largest by share count this quarter, though not its largest by dollar value.
Taken together, Clare Market's first-quarter moves span technology, gold, uranium, insurance, and oilfield services. No single theme dominates. The firm appears to be building a portfolio designed to perform across different economic conditions rather than betting heavily on one sector.
