UCLA Faces Purdue

UCLA football prepares for a tough challenge against an improved Purdue team.

UCLA football is preparing for a tough match against Purdue, who are currently 1-1 in their second season under coach Barry Odom and are coming off a 38-36 double-overtime loss to Wake Forest. Purdue is led by 6-foot-4 redshirt junior quarterback Ryan Browne, who has shown significant improvement in his fourth season in the program. UCLA's new head coach Bob Chesney acknowledged the challenge posed by Purdue's improved team. The most intriguing match will be against Purdue's special teams, led by assistant coach James Shibest. UCLA is coming off strong performance from its offensive line, led to a 28-10 victory over San Diego State and 277 rushing yards and six touchdowns in the season-opening 45-24 win at Cal.
