Denver Broncos Running Back Jonah Coleman Returns to Practice With Uncertain Role

Broncos running back Jonah Coleman sprained his ankle in Denver’s 20-13 win over Jacksonville. After missing Wednesday’s practice, he returned Friday; his availability and role against the Rams remain uncertain. J.K. Dobbins and R.J. Harvey practiced fully Thursday and appeared on track to play, potentially limiting Coleman’s workload. Coleman had 13 touches for 58 yards and a touchdown against Jacksonville, when Harvey was out and Dobbins exited early, but a similar opportunity this week is considered unlikely.
Coleman was also seen on the field during the media-access portion of Thursday’s practice, an intermediate sign of activity between missing Wednesday and returning Friday.
Despite the uncertain immediate workload, Coleman’s Jacksonville performance may help him make a case for a larger role later in the season.
Coleman, Dobbins and Harvey were all listed on Denver’s Week 3 injury report, with the Thursday report saying all three appeared set to practice in some capacity.
