Philadelphia Eagles Suffer First 20-Point Loss in Three Years Against Chicago Bears

The Philadelphia Eagles suffered a 27-7 loss to the Chicago Bears, with veteran Case Keenum throwing for 247 yards and two touchdowns as Philadelphia managed only a Jalen Hurts tush-push score. The defeat exposed struggles on both sides of the ball and marked the Eagles’ first loss by more than 20 points in three years. The poor showing followed public praise from coach Nick Sirianni, who has emphasized his trust in Hurts and the mental demands of playing quarterback in Philadelphia. Hurts had recently led a late winning drive against Tennessee, but the Bears loss raises fresh questions about the team’s form and Sirianni’s position as the Eagles look ahead to their next game.
The Bears were without both their first- and second-string quarterbacks, and Case Keenum had not played a game since 2023 before completing 70% of his passes against Philadelphia.
After the loss, Nick Sirianni waited for all of his players to leave the field before he did, a gesture that drew attention from fans.
In the Eagles’ win over Tennessee, Hurts completed 26 of 37 passes for 264 yards and two touchdowns, then led a 12-play, 65-yard drive that ended with a three-yard touchdown pass to Darius Cooper with nine seconds left.
Philadelphia’s next game after the Chicago defeat was scheduled to be at home against the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday.
