Chicago Bears Defeat Philadelphia Eagles 27-7 as Jalen Hurts Returns From Concussion Evaluation

The Chicago Bears beat the Philadelphia Eagles 27-7 in Week 3, giving Philadelphia a second straight underwhelming offensive performance despite its 2-1 start. Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts was briefly removed for a concussion evaluation after a hard sideline hit by Bears linebacker D’Marco Jackson, who was penalized for unnecessary roughness; Hurts was cleared to return and scored a rushing touchdown. Hurts finished with 153 passing yards, no passing touchdowns and an interception, while backup Andy Dalton threw an end-zone interception during a promising drive in Hurts’s absence. Former Eagle T.J. Edwards also intercepted Hurts after listening to Philadelphia’s play call. Chicago won despite playing without starting quarterback Caleb Williams.
After returning from his concussion evaluation, Hurts completed four consecutive passes and led an eight-play, 67-yard touchdown drive in 1:52, finishing it with a rushing score just before halftime.
Barkley was Philadelphia’s most consistent offensive producer in the first half, gaining 73 yards on 11 carries behind a reshuffled offensive line.
Philadelphia also lost a Tank Bigsby fumble, while cornerback Quinyon Mitchell’s fourth-down pass breakup prevented Chicago from turning that turnover into points.
The Eagles were penalized five times in the first half, compounding their offensive struggles.
Bears quarterback Case Keenum, playing his first NFL game in nearly three years, threw for 149 yards and a touchdown in the first half.
