Public Bodies and Local Governments Schedule Key October Meetings Across Multiple Regions

Several public bodies have scheduled meetings and legislative business for late September and October. Douglas, Georgia, published its October 2026 board and committee meeting schedule, with meetings open to the public. Virginia local governments in Culpeper, Greene, Madison, Orange and Rappahannock counties and nearby towns listed meetings for the week of September 28; early voting for the November 3 general election was also set to begin at county election offices. The North Texas Tollway Authority’s board committees are scheduled to meet October 1 in Plano. A legislative assembly will meet on nine days in October, with the revised 2026–27 budget, requests for additional spending and prior-year excess grants among its main business.
The assembly is scheduled to present the supplementary demands for grants on October 15, then debate and vote on them on October 26. Those demands include excess grants for five financial years: 2016–17, 2017–18, 2018–19, 2020–21 and 2021–22.
The assembly’s financial business is due to conclude on October 29 with appropriation bills for the supplementary demands and excess grants; October 16 is set aside for government and private members’ business.
In the Virginia-area schedule, the Town of Washington Architectural Planning Commission is listed to meet Monday at 7 p.m.
The NTTA says its toll projects receive no legislative appropriations; toll revenue is used to repay debt and operate and maintain the roadways.
