Little Nightmares III: The Backstage DLC Confirmed for June 12, 2026, Bringing New Terrors and Puzzles

Bandai Namco has announced Little Nightmares III: The Backstage, the first DLC chapter for the horror adventure, set to arrive on June 12, 2026. The story drops players deeper beneath The Carnevale into a gloomy backstage area, where Low and a new child, Dime, must team up to navigate fresh puzzles and survive new threats while using Dime’s torch hat to see in the dark. Their goal is to rescue Alone from the Puppeteer as the DLC introduces tense chase sequences and other dangers. The Backstage will release on PC via Steam, PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One and Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2. Players can buy the DLC separately, and the Deluxe Edition also includes The Backstage plus additional content planned for later in the year. A launch trailer debuted during the Future Games Show Summer Showcase, previewing the DLC’s setting and horror moments.
Bandai Namco said “Little Nightmares III: The Backstage” is the first DLC chapter included in the “Secrets of the Spiral” expansion pass.
In its debut trailer at the Future Games Show Summer Showcase, the DLC is shown featuring a gloomy backstage packed with “bizarre hanging dolls, giant scissors, and a massive sewing machine,” plus new threats including “shadow monsters” and “a colossal overseer” that dominates the space.
The Backstage trailer (a 1 minute, 44 second video) highlights tense chase sequences rendered in “polished yet unsettling Unreal engine graphics,” with the protagonists using a flashlight to fend off attackers.
To set up the DLC, one report recapped the cliffhanger from the base game—calling it a co-op journey through The Necropolis, Candy Factory, The Institute, and Carnevale while players hid from Monster Baby, ran from The Kin and Mini-Kin, and traversed mirrors—driving fan demand to learn more about “the nowhere” and Low/Alone.
