Cockroach Janta Party Alleges Planned Arrests Ahead of Delhi Protest Rally

Das also named Ratna Singh among those he said authorities planned to arrest, and declared that CJP leaders were “always been ready to face jail or worse.”
Dipke said the protest would be peaceful and warned that if Delhi Police stopped demonstrators en route, “wherever they stop us will become our Jantar Mantar.”
CJP’s Mumbai protest at Shivaji Park was backed by Shiv Sena (UBT), according to a report on the party’s planned Delhi demonstration.
The planned rally comes amid heightened tensions in Delhi: more than 120 people were briefly detained during protests, and three women journalists’ complaints alleging sexual harassment by police officers were referred to the crime branch for investigation.
The Cockroach Janta Party claims authorities plan to arrest its leaders before an October 10 protest at Delhi's Jantar Mantar, according to Indian Express. Spokesperson Saurav Das named himself, founder Abhijeet Dipke, and Ashutosh Ranka as targets, but offered no evidence. The party plans to demand Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar's resignation over alleged irregularities in electoral roll revisions.
Party founder Dipke vowed the demonstration would proceed regardless. He warned that if Delhi Police stopped marchers en route to Jantar Mantar, "wherever they stop us will become our Jantar Mantar," News18 reported. Das declared CJP leaders were "always been ready to face jail or worse."
Das made the arrest allegation without providing proof of the government's plans. The Daily Jagran covered his warning that "Dipke, Ranka and I may be arrested soon." The Election Commission has already rejected claims of irregularities, saying all decisions on electoral roll revisions were unanimous.
Das also named Ratna Singh among those he said faced arrest. The CJP's allegations follow previous detentions of party members in Assam and recent protests in Mumbai, where Shiv Sena (UBT) backed the demonstration.
The planned October 10 rally occurs amid rising tensions in the capital. More than 120 people were briefly detained during recent protests, and three women journalists filed sexual harassment complaints against police officers. Those complaints were referred to the crime branch for investigation.
The party's Jantar Mantar demonstration aims to pressure Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar to step down. CJP alleges irregularities occurred during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise for electoral rolls. The Election Commission rejected these allegations, stating all choices were made by unanimous vote, not through the internal objections CJP claims happened.
