Game Informer Report Details Advanced Weather and Wildlife Systems in GTA 6

Game Informer’s upcoming Grand Theft Auto VI cover story will discuss an advanced weather system designed to simulate Florida’s less sunny conditions in the fictional state of Leonida. Writer Marcus Stewart said he explored the feature with Rockstar Games as part of a 14-page report that also covers the studio’s research into Miami and Florida. The announcement confirms a weather system, but Rockstar has not specified which events it will include or whether storms, flooding, or changing conditions will affect gameplay.
Game Informer’s feature will also discuss the “staggering amount” of wildlife in Leonida, including native and non-native animals roaming on land, in the air, and at sea.
The Game Informer story is set to include 12 new screenshots and exclusive artwork featuring the dual protagonists, Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos.
Dexerto reports that an earlier extended look at GTA VI showed in-game versions of the Florida Keys and Everglades; it also mentioned a zoo and an animal compendium players will study.
Game Informer Issue 382 is scheduled to go on sale September 29, 2026, in the United States and internationally in more than 50 countries.
