Bose Launches First Wired Earbuds in Eleven Years to Meet Rising Demand

Bose is expanding its headphone lineup as wired earbuds regain popularity, introducing $99 Noise Cancelling Wired Earbuds that go on sale Oct. 15. The company says the product was developed quickly in response to renewed interest among younger consumers; an early hands-on report praised its sound and active noise cancellation but cautioned that the tested unit was a late-stage prototype. Bose’s QuietComfort Headphones (2nd Gen) have also received their first reported discount, falling to $319 from a $359 list price and adding a Cinema Mode for video. At the luxury end, Bose and Thom Browne have released a $950 cashmere-covered version of the QuietComfort Ultra, with the underlying audio features unchanged. A separate deal listing offered open-box QuietComfort wireless headphones for $114, though availability was extremely limited.
Bose’s new wired earbuds are its first wired headphone release in 11 years. Wired-earphone sales rose 10% in the second half of 2025 and 20% at the start of 2026, according to the article.
The earbuds will come in white and black, plus a limited-edition mint green, and preorders are available through Bose’s website and Best Buy.
The QuietComfort Headphones (2nd Gen) add an updated headband with adjustable sliders, more plush cushioning and oval-shaped earcups; the listed discount applies to all five available colors.
The Thom Browne edition offers up to 30 hours of battery life, or 23 hours with Immersive Audio, and lets users switch among Quiet, Aware and Cinema modes in the Bose app.
