A Wisconsin man accused of stalking his ex-girlfriend for 13 years had human skulls, a jar containing part of serial killer John Wayne Gacy's brain, and graphic journals expressing violent fantasies hidden in his basement, authorities say. Benjamin C. Larson, 47, allegedly sent unsolicited letters, cards, and emails to the victim for over a decade after she ended their two-month relationship in 2013. KOLO TV reported that police uncovered the macabre collection during an August 2026 search of his Fond du Lac, Wisconsin home.
Larson faces up to three years and six months in prison if convicted of felony stalking. Court Commissioner Alberto Quiroga set his cash bail at $15,000 despite prosecutors highlighting journal entries where Larson wrote he wanted to "take their skulls" and "just want her gone." A Decade of Escalating Harassment Across State Lines
The victim dated Larson for roughly two months in Madison before breaking up with him after he called threatening suicide with a gun. According to KAIT8, Larson then pursued her relentlessly across state lines and internationally, sending letters, cards, gifts, dried flowers, and voicemails for 13 years straight. In 2015, he emailed her a 15-page message revealing he had tattooed her initials onto his body.
By mid-2025, the harassment intensified dramatically. WSAW reported that Larson's therapist repeatedly contacted the victim, and Larson began sending mail referencing her husband and child by name. He filed fraudulent complaints against her with professional licensing boards in three different states and told the victim he was "walking around Madison as part of therapy."
Basement Discovery Reveals Serial Killer Shrines
When police executed a search warrant at Larson's Fond du Lac home in August 2026, they found a basement compound filled with disturbing items. Fox34 reported investigators discovered at least six human skulls or partial skulls, a padlocked bedroom containing a life-sized silicone doll, preserved cyanide bottles, and a mummy. They also found a grave rubbing of serial killer Edward Gein, 10 binders labeled "Edward Gein Book," stolen items from Gein's grave, and a jar allegedly containing part of John Wayne Gacy's brain.
Additional macabre items included a life-sized Jason Voorhees horror movie figure and .22 caliber cartridges similar to those linked to the Zodiac Killer. Alaska's News Source noted that authorities are investigating the origin of the human remains, which could result in additional federal or state charges related to abuse or trafficking of human remains.
Graphic Journals Show Violent Intent and Obsession
Police recovered 25 pages of journal entries from Larson's padlocked basement room expressing dark fantasies about the victim. WITN reported that in one entry, Larson wrote: "I really ache to take their skulls, all of them. It's a rage I can't put into words." In another passage, he wrote: "I just want her gone so I don't have to know she's still out there doing all of this with someone else."
Assistant District Attorney David Olson highlighted the journal entries during court proceedings, telling the judge: "Most concerning were some documents that were also recovered in that room." WBNG reported that Larson is now monitored via GPS, banned from Dane County, and subject to ongoing psychological evaluation. His formal arraignment is scheduled for September 11, 2026.
