Judge Rejects Defense Bid to Clear Lindsay Clancy of Murder Charges

The judge presiding over Lindsay Clancy's case has rejected a defense motion to have her found not guilty of murder, stating there is no evidence that she killed her three children. The motion was submitted by defense attorney Kevin Reddington, who argued that there was a "total and complete lack of evidence" that Clancy killed her children. On Oct. 1, Judge William Sullivan ruled that there were enough evidence for a jury to decide on Clancy's guilt and criminal responsibility. Clancy is charged with three counts of first-degree murder in connection with the deaths of her children and has pleaded not guilty by lack of criminal responsibility, an insanity defense. During her trial, Reddington argued that her client had been suffering from postpartum psychosis and overmedication at the time of the killings.
