New Ipsos poll reveals 9/11 remains among the most historic events for Americans

The 25th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, 25 years after the attacks, are still remembered as among the most important historic events in many Americans' lives, according to a new poll by Ipsos. The poll also found that the COVID-19 pandemic and the elections of Presidents Barack Obama and Donald Trump were also mentioned as significant events. The majority of Americans remember where they were when they heard about the attacks and about two-thirds of Americans say it impacted the country "a great deal" and that about 3 in 10 U.S. adults say they permanently changed their lives due to the attacks. Despite the widespread impact, only about 1 in 10 Americans plan to mark the anniversary of 9/10.
