Three University of South Alabama Students Arrested For Threatening Trump Online

Three University of South Alabama students, Amare Jemal Woods, Cameron Lamark Lewis and Kayla Leaann Smith, have been arrested and charged with threatening President Donald Trump on social media ahead of his Oct. 2 campaign rally at the university's Mitchell Center in Mobile, Alabama, campus. The students are accused of making separate threats on TikTok and X in the days before the scheduled appearance of Trump on Oct.2. The alleged threats were discovered during an intelligence search of social media conducted ahead of the event. The University of S. Alabama condemned the alleged threats and stated that free expression does not protect unlawful conduct. The FBI did not immediately respond to USA TODAY's inquiries.
