Kasey Kahne to end retirement and race full time in NASCAR in 2027

Kasey Kahne, a 31-time race winner across NASCAR's three national series, is set to return from retirement and join Spire Motorsports' Truck Series team for the entire 2027 season. Kahne last raced full time in NASCAR's premier Cup Series from 2004 to 2018, winning 18 races and was one of the sport's most popular drivers. He abruptly retired at the end of the 2018 season due to health reasons, including excessive dehydration. In April 2025, he made his NASCAR return in a one-off race in NASCAR’s second-tier O’Reilly Series (then called the Xfinity Series) at Rockingham (N.C.) Speedway.
