Morocco Orders 100 Oshkosh Heavy Transport Vehicles to Modernize Military Fleet

The order was placed as a Direct Commercial Sales transaction through Optimum Vehicle Logistics, Oshkosh Defense’s exclusive distributor in Morocco. Oshkosh did not disclose the order’s value or delivery schedule.
The MN573 trailers were developed with Dutch manufacturer Broshuis B.V., which Article 1 describes as a family-owned company founded in 1885.
The new purchase follows Morocco’s first publicly announced Oshkosh HET A1 order in September 2024, which included 635NL trailers and was linked to modernization of the country’s M1 Abrams tank fleet.
Article 3 says Morocco’s land forces have 222 M1A2SA Abrams and 162 M1A2 SEPv3 Abrams tanks. It also reports that Morocco is considering buying South Korean K2 Black Panther tanks, though no binding decision has been made.
Morocco has ordered 100 military transport vehicles from Wisconsin-based Oshkosh Defense — 50 heavy-equipment tractor trucks and 50 specialized trailers. Military News reported the purchase came through Oshkosh's exclusive Moroccan distributor, Optimum Vehicle Logistics. The new order marks the second batch of these vehicles for the Royal Moroccan Armed Forces, which is modernizing its heavy-transport fleet to move tanks and other armored equipment.
The MN573 trailers were co-developed with Dutch manufacturer Broshuis B.V., a family-owned company founded in 1885. North Africa Post noted this order follows Morocco's first announced Oshkosh purchase in September 2024. Oshkosh did not disclose the contract value or delivery timeline.
Morocco's land forces operate a substantial tank fleet that requires heavy transport support. En Yabiladi reported the country has 222 M1A2SA Abrams tanks and 162 M1A2 SEPv3 Abrams tanks. These vehicles need specialized transporters to move between bases and sustain operations in the field. The new Oshkosh order directly supports this infrastructure.
Morocco is also exploring further armor upgrades. The country is considering purchasing South Korean K2 Black Panther tanks, though no binding decision has been made yet. New transport vehicles could prepare the military for expanded tank operations with either current or future equipment.
Morocco's earlier Oshkosh purchase is already in use. Army Technology confirmed the first batch of Heavy Equipment Transporter A1 tractors has been delivered and is operational with the Royal Moroccan Armed Forces. That September 2024 order included specialized 635NL trailers paired with the tractor units. The new order expands the fleet with different trailer models.
This second Morocco order signals Oshkosh's growing influence in African defense markets. Defence Industry reported the purchase as a Direct Commercial Sales transaction, a streamlined procurement method that bypasses formal government-to-government channels. Optimum Vehicle Logistics, Oshkosh's exclusive Moroccan partner, handled the deal. The contract includes spare parts, ongoing services, and operator training for the Royal Moroccan Armed Forces.
Heavy-equipment transporters are critical military assets. The HET A1 tractors and MN573 trailers are designed to reposition tanks, recovery vehicles, and other heavy-duty equipment across challenging terrain. With two successful orders now in place, Morocco is substantially upgrading its logistics capability to sustain modern armored forces.
