Green Bay Packers Enter Atlanta Matchup With Dangerously Thin Offensive Line Depth

Green Bay will dress only eight offensive linemen for Thursday night’s game against Atlanta, despite losing right tackle Zach Bako-Bewele for the season and ruling out left guard Aaron Banks. The Packers activated versatile John Williams and Travis Glover but did not call up additional linemen from the practice squad, leaving little depth if further injuries arise. Earlier concerns centered on the left guard and swing-tackle positions after injuries to Banks and Donovan Jennings, while the depleted line faces a Falcons front described as a favorable matchup. Receiver Jayden Reed is also out, with Skyy Moore among those expected to help fill the gap; defensive tackle Javon Hargrave returns after missing last week.
The Packers nearly ran out of offensive linemen during the Jets game when a player went to the medical tent. Offensive coordinator Adam Stenavich called it “a very scary situation.”
Rookie Jager Burton could be an option at left guard if Donovan Jennings cannot play; the article said Burton was solid in pass protection and decent as a run blocker against the Jets, and could potentially start over Jennings even if Jennings is healthy.
Anthony Belton, the likely right-tackle starter for the rest of the season after Zach Bako-Bewele’s injury, appeared on the injury report with an elbow injury and was limited in the team’s walkthrough.
