Former Melbourne Teacher Charged With Multiple Counts of Sexual Assault

Victoria Police said Kenny-Jones was arrested on October 2 after officers executed a warrant at his Thornbury home; he was bailed to appear at Ringwood Magistrates’ Court on December 2.
MLC said it terminated Kenny-Jones’s employment after identifying breaches of its Staff and Student Professional Boundaries Policy and Child Safe Code of Conduct.
The college also emailed alumnae who graduated between 2020 and 2025, as well as others who might have known Kenny-Jones through school activities.
A former geography teacher at Melbourne's Methodist Ladies' College has been charged with three counts of sexually assaulting a student aged 16 or 17 who was under his care. Victoria Police arrested Kam Kenny-Jones on October 2 after executing a warrant at his Thornbury home. The assault allegedly occurred in Mont Albert in July.

MLC found he had breached its Staff and Student Professional Boundaries Policy and Child Safe Code of Conduct — standards designed to protect student safety and appropriate staff conduct.
The college contacted parents of all students taught by Kenny-Jones to inform them of developments. MLC also emailed alumnae who graduated between 2020 and 2025, plus others connected through school activities. The school offered counselling and support services to affected families while urging people to refrain from public speculation as the legal process unfolds.
