Regional high school golf tournaments determine district qualifiers and crown champions across multiple states.

The first round of Colorado’s 2026 Class 5A boys state golf tournament was played at Columbine Country Club, with the available results listing competitors and scores, including several Aurora-area golfers. In Iowa, Le Mars finished fourth at the Missouri River Activities Conference tournament with a team score of 310, while Bishop Heelan won with 301; Abraham Lincoln’s Brody Sneed took medalist honors with a 62. Ohio’s sectional tournaments determined district qualifiers, with close Division 2 contests at Pine Lakes and Punderson; Champion won the Pine Lakes team title, while Chagrin Falls edged Southeast at Punderson, and individual golfers also advanced. At Aucilla Christian Academy in Florida, coach Deven Heard reported continued growth among the boys varsity golf teams, which have generally scored in the upper 150s to 160s this season and are described as the most competitive group of his tenure.
Le Mars had finished as either conference champion or runner-up in each of the previous four years. Coach Nick Knapp said the Bulldogs’ score of 310 would have won the MRAC tournament every year from 2020 through 2023.
Rain delayed the MRAC tournament by several days, and play took place on a wet course with long grass. Golfers used “lift, clean and place” rules throughout the course, which Knapp said may have contributed to the lower scores.
At the Division 2 Pine Lakes sectional, Champion sophomore Avery Robinette shot 74 to win medalist honors by six strokes; Champion’s team title came six strokes ahead of Columbiana.
At the Punderson Division 2 sectional, Chagrin Falls’ Elizabeth Pollock and Southeast’s Sammy Morgan tied for medalist honors with 79s, and no other golfer finished within seven strokes of them.
