Big Brother 28 contestant Kamu Kirk is facing intense backlash after resurfaced Instagram Stories showed him mocking a man being arrested by saying the person 'thinks he's George Floyd,' according to Wonderwall. Kirk filmed the arrest near his home in December 2025, repeating 'I can't breathe' as bystanders cheered. The clip has sparked calls from fans and former cast members for his removal from the show.
CBS has not made any public statement about the controversy. Kirk has also stayed silent as the backlash grows, Wonderwall reported.
What the Video Shows and Why It Spread
In the clip, Kirk films an arrest happening near his home. The person being arrested yells 'I can't breathe.' Kirk responds on camera, 'Bro thinks he's George Floyd.' He then walks away, saying, 'People are crazy, man. I'm going back inside,' according to Wonderwall.
The video was originally posted to Kirk's Instagram Stories in December 2025. It was later added to his Instagram highlights, making it easy to find. That detail drew extra criticism, as highlights are a deliberate choice — not a fleeting post, according to Wonderwall.
BB Alumni Blast Kirk, Demand Accountability from CBS
Former Big Brother players lined up to condemn the video. Season 21 alum Kat Dunn called it 'incredibly disappointing' and labeled keeping it in his highlights 'pure weirdo behavior.' She said she would not want to associate with Kirk going forward, per Sun Herald.
Jimmy Heagerty called the video 'disgusting' and urged producers to remove Kirk from the show. Andy Herren described it as 'extremely disgusting but not shocking.' Quinn Martin questioned the show's vetting process, asking what happened to background checks, according to Bellingham Herald.
Brendon Villegas Ties Remarks to Broader Cultural Pattern
Veteran houseguest Brendon Villegas said Kirk's comments were not surprising. He linked the mindset behind the remarks to the influence of Joe Rogan, suggesting this kind of behavior fits a wider pattern seen in certain public figures, according to BND.
CBS Silent as Fans Debate the Network's Responsibility
Critics are directing anger not just at Kirk but at CBS itself. Many fans say the network failed to properly vet contestants before casting them, according to Archynetys. The show has faced similar casting controversies before, and this incident has reignited that debate.
CBS has not commented publicly. Kirk has not spoken out either. As long as both stay silent, fans say the network is effectively choosing to do nothing — a position many find unacceptable given the gravity of the remarks, according to Archynetys.
