Bengals Sign Wide Receiver Mitchell Tinsley to Active Roster Amid Injuries

The Cincinnati Bengals are bringing wide receiver Mitchell Tinsley back to their active roster after signing him off the Houston Texans’ practice squad. Tinsley played all 17 games for Cincinnati last season, recording eight catches for 116 yards and two touchdowns, but was released during roster cuts after Dohnte Meyers and rookie Colbie Young emerged. His return adds depth with Andrei Iosivas on injured reserve and Young sidelined by a knee injury, leaving the Bengals short of receivers behind Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins. Tinsley could be available as Cincinnati prepares to face the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 4.
Tinsley made four starts for Cincinnati last season, and one of his highlights was a 27-yard reception against the Chicago Bears.
Tinsley went undrafted in 2023, signed with Washington, and appeared in two games for the Commanders before joining Cincinnati.
Houston did not promote Tinsley to its active roster, despite injuries to Texans receivers Tank Dell, Jayden Higgins and Nico Collins.
Cincinnati's ground game had struggled entering Week 4, ranking 27th in rushing yards per game, while Jacksonville was allowing 235.7 passing yards per game, 23rd in the league.
