Recovering Receiver Tyreek Hill Linked to Chiefs and 49ers for Next Season

Free-agent receiver Tyreek Hill is recovering from a serious knee injury sustained in 2025, including a dislocation and torn ACL, and could return to the NFL once medically cleared. His agent has cautioned that he should not rush his rehabilitation, and his recovery leaves questions about whether he can regain his former explosiveness. Hill’s cryptic post about getting back to work has fueled speculation about possible destinations, including the Chiefs and injury-hit 49ers, but no signing has been confirmed. Hill has previously signaled interest in returning to Kansas City, which could use help at receiver. He has also relisted his Florida mansion, adding to speculation about his future.
Hill’s agent, Drew Rosenhaus, said medical professionals advised the 32-year-old to continue rehabilitation until at least October rather than rush back; Hill must be medically cleared before he can sign with a team.
The Dolphins released Hill in February to clear salary-cap space. He had 340 catches for 4,733 yards and 27 touchdowns in 91 games for Miami from 2022 to 2025; his career totals include 11,363 receiving yards and 83 receiving touchdowns.
Hill’s 2025 season ended after four games. In 2023, he led the NFL with 1,799 receiving yards and tied for the league lead with 13 receiving touchdowns.
Hill recently shared a video of himself doing agility drills on the beach. The report described it as an encouraging glimpse of his rehabilitation but noted it did not establish that he had been medically cleared.
