Wisconsin family discovers four-foot boa constrictor hidden under their car hood

A Milwaukee-area family discovered a four-foot boa constrictor hidden under the hood of their car over Labor Day weekend. The discovery was made by homeowner Windy Tuck and her husband, who were working on an older car parked outside their home. The family was directed to the Milwaukee Area Domestic Animal Control Commission (MADACC), which then contacted reptile rescue expert Cindy Steinle, founder of Small Scale Reptile Rescue. Steinle recognized the snake as a species not native to Wisconsin and removed it from the engine compartment using a ladder. The rescue took about 10 minutes and no one was injured. The snake will remain at MADACC during a mandatory stray hold period, and if no owner comes forward, it will be put up for adoption.
