Stray Kids Join BTS in Sitting Out the 69th Grammy Awards

Popular K-pop group Stray Kids has withdrawn from the 69th Grammy Awards without entering any music, joining BTS in their absence. The group's agency, JYP Entertainment, confirmed that the group filed no entry before the Aug. 21 submission deadline. The move was announced by the Recording Academy, which had introduced the Asian Pop category a previous month. All eight Stray Kid members were invited to be Recording Academy voters, which allows them to help pick nominees and winners. The Recording Academy CEO Harvey Mason Jr. confirmed that for 2027 the category will proceed. BTS, which has been nominated five times but has never won, declined to comment on their Grammy plans.
