John Mayer Announces Six-Show 2027 Sphere Residency Featuring Solo Sets and Band

John Mayer will headline six solo Sphere shows in Las Vegas on April 8, 10, 11, 15, 17 and 18, 2027. Each concert will feature Mayer solo, his full band and the John Mayer Trio, with drummer Steve Jordan and bassist Pino Palladino. Tickets start at $129; VIP and hotel packages go on sale Sept. 30, artist presales begin Oct. 7, a SiriusXM presale starts Oct. 8, and general sales begin Oct. 9. One dollar from each ticket will support Mayer’s Back To You Fund, while show-ticket auctions will benefit his Heart and Armor Foundation, which supports veterans’ health. Mayer previously performed at the Sphere with Dead & Company and helped shape the group’s immersive visuals.
Mayer’s solo set is expected to feature acoustic guitar, piano and electric guitar, according to the show details.
Dead & Company’s 48-show Sphere run drew nearly half a million attendees, according to the announcement cited by Just Jared.
Mayer served as artistic director for Dead & Company’s Sphere residencies, commissioning and overseeing the visuals; Variety reports the nightly setlists and accompanying visuals often included new elements.
The Sphere announcement described the performances as combining “immersive sound, visual spectacle, and sensory feedback” to make each show a unique celebration.
Mayer announced the shows shortly after marking the 20th anniversary of his album Continuum, writing that “everything clicked into place on this album” and that it changed his life.
